Systemic Functional Linguistic
is a theory developed by M. Halliday in 1980, a descriptive and
interpretative framework for viewing language as a strategic
meaning making resource. SFL is theory about language as a social process ,
as well as analytical method which permits the detailed description of
language patterns.
The following presentation is related to Genre-based model language. Here you can find theory about grammar, text and genre.
Now, I will share with you two videos where you can get more information about the basic principles of SFL.
Then, I invite you to answer some questions related to the information given.

Hello Gisela! I have just completed your Google form and I found it quite good in order to review the contents of SFL’s theory. I failed some of the answers because I wrote them in an order that was a bit different from the answers you wrote as being correct. Although they were the same, their organization differed, so maybe you can provide all the possible alternatives in which people may write their answers. As for the Power Point presentation you and Jaqueline made, it clearly reflects the choices you make when you read and study. As far as I can tell, you use complete definitions and thorough explanations to help you acquire the contents. In my case, these type of summaries have not been so helpful, as I need to highlight key words and ideas, using sentences rather than whole paragraphs. This shows how different students can be when it comes to the study techniques that best suits them.
